[MG100] week 20.20 The Great Realisation
Tell me the one about the virus again. This changes everything. Who knew that 2020 hindsight would mean looking back on 2020 as the year when everything changed? I for one am now obsessed with seeing change as an opportunity and that we, the 100 Coaches, are supremely well placed to leverage that opportunity. We can create more good for more people by being the perfect resource and community for the best leaders in the world to understand and adapt. We can lead by putting value at the center, and by recognizing that the entire globe is connected, not just by supply chains, but by humanity.
To help us get there, we are having a quick decon:recon of 100 Coaches to set us up for success as an organization. And... we have a book coming out within the next 10 days: Leadership in the Time of Crisis. And... we are rethinking the speaker business, the coaching business, and the leadership conference business. Because as we begin to emerge from the pandemic, we will be ready. Buckle in and join up!
Wed 10 am 5/13 Reconstructing Good with Ayse Birsel
Turning constraints time opportunities for a better world. I’m reaching out to my favorite thinkers to share positively inspiring ideas at a time where there is so much anxiety about our future. Would you support me and join us that day and share one constraint and opportunity pair from your perspective.
GRATITUDE DRAWING: I am grateful to be able to join my friends over cocktails even if it’s of the virtual kind.
Thu 8 am 5/14: What It Takes to Make a Virtual Presentation with Jennifer McCollum
There seems to be a lot of interest in MG100 to learn about conversion of live events to virtual, starting with Mo’s request on WhatsApp and a lot of people copied here asking to be included in the conversation! Jennifer is assuming people mean CONFERENCES vs leadership development programs (1/2/5 days). Eric and Jennifer have formed a “brain trust” with a few other (non MG100) CEOs, and are now holding meetings bi-weekly, which has been very helpful. Join Thursday to learn more
Speaking virtually may not be as exciting for the audience or the speaker as a live performance. But in times of physical distancing, speaking via video conferencing is here. The secret of a successful keynote presentation is twofold: experience and engagement. For an article in SmartBrief, John Baldoni interviewed fellow MG100 members Jennifer McCollum, Tasha Eurich, David Nour and Eddie Turner, Jr. for their insights.https://www.smartbrief.com/original/2020/05/what-it-takes-make-virtual-presentation-great

Harry Kraemer releases Your 168: Put your values first and focus on what matters most
Despite our good intentions, many of us experience a chronic imbalance between the desire to live our values and the distractions and never-ending to-do lists that can get in the way. In Your 168: Finding Purpose and Satisfaction in a Values-Based Life, readers learn how to pursue a values-based life by identifying and committing to their values and priorities. Harry uses personal stories and insights from others to help readers discover the dissonance between what they say is most important and where they actually devote their time. This is an eye-opener for most people, uncovering the obstacles to leading a value-based life.
“Harry Kraemer’s Your 168 goes to the heart of what helps people manage not only their time, but also their energy. All of us can be energized by multiple sources—family, exercise, spiritual well-being. These sources, combined with meaningful work, can lead to a full and integrated life. For anyone who seeks to lead a values-based life, Your 168 is a personal and inspiring guide to making the most of what matters.” - Alan Mulally The book will be published on May 19th and it is available to pre-order now on Amazon. https://amzn.to/3bq7iWC Proceeds go to One Acre Fund. https://bit.ly/2YQE94h
Henna Inam is launching my new book in an "agile" way. Shorter and actionable to the challenges of leading today (cover attached below). She is happy to share a copy with MG100 members and open to finding ways to collaborate with them in case the messages of the book resonate.
And, as always, thank you, Marshall, for making all of this possible
With love and gratitude
